Monday Monday

So, I got up this morning at 5am, same time as my wife gets up to get ready for work. It was my intention to get a good start on the day and do some writing before the baby got up. We had breakfast and watched the Daily Show for the first time in a few weeks (it was the one with Michelle Obama from back in late May, yeah, we’re behind).

After that, I went through my email, mostly junk, and then got geared up to get some writing done. I made it about a paragraph in when the baby started fussing. This was about 6am. He normally doesn’t get up until 630, and sometimes later. And he’s been pretty good about waking up naturally and happy. Today, he was not happy.

It was clear he wanted to still be asleep. But he was fussy and squirmy. His diaper had leaked some and was clearly hungry. So I changed him and fed him. Now it’s 730 and he’s down for his first nap, which will go anywhere from 45min to 2hrs. Most likely 45min.

I’ve lost all motivation to get started. On one hand, that means I actually am writing a blog. On the other, I’m not being very entertaining. The nice thing about working from home is that I can accept my unproductivity and don’t have to try and work when my work will suck. The bad thing is it means I get no work done.

We’ll see how the rest of the day goes.  Don’t forget to check out my final few stops on the Aristeia Blog Tour this week. Schedule is below. The final two interviews from this week were some of the most entertaining to do. Today’s at Novel D’Tales is a character interview with Saracasi. That was a fun writing exercise.
