Evolution of a Cover

Published by Wayne on

For the week leading up to the release of my novel, Aristeia: Revolutionary Right, I am going to give blog readers a look at the cover art evolution process. Oliver from Fantasio Fine Arts was amazing to work with.  He has some other great stuff up on his website.

This was Oliver’s first rough sketch, made based on some ideas and samples from me. As you can see, it’s very rough, but it gets the idea of my main character, Maarkean Ocaitchi, with his ship, the Cutty Sark, flying overhead.  Why is his ship flying without him? So that both could be on the cover. It’s doesn’t have to make any more sense than that.
