Not much is known about the secretive Zolan. They are a species that defy conventional biology. Zolan resemble floating blobs more than any known animal, plant or sentient species known. In most interactions they do take a shape resembling bipedal creatures, it is thought this is only to facilitate easier communication. How they glow or float in the air in defiance of local gravity is unknown and unstudied due to their isolationist tendencies.
Technologically more advanced than most other governments and species, the Zolan were loose allies during the AI War. They shared the goal of PUG in opposing the AI Fleets attempting to eliminate biological life, they did not work closely together.
The only thing known about Sapik himself is he is a scientist specializing in stellar plasma. His research ship was disabled in an accident and found by a Manta war clan before eventually being rescued by the crew of the independent transport ship Seraph.

Intelligence reports have emerged that suggest Seraph has come into possession of a Zolan shield. Nearly impenetrable, these shields have been sought after by PUG military command for some time. The only thing that has prevented covert operations to acquire one has been the speculation that the Zolan’s unique physiology is a key element to the technologies functioning. The Zolan has refused discussion on this matter. If this Sapik is working the shield technology for the crew of Seraph military intelligence would be very interested in speaking to him or any of the crew.
