SPAM!
I really don’t understand this. On the Rogue forums, I normally have account activation turned off. I turned it on today to allow some people to register, without me having to create them myself. Within an hour I had dozens of spam accounts being created. Accounts created with nonsense names. Dozens of them.
What I really don’t understand is WHY? They don’t make any posts, so there’s no advertising being done. Our site is note very heavily trafficked, so I have no idea how they found us or why they would want to register. There’s only like 15 regular users. What purpose does spamming account creation server for the one doing it?

I think it is mostly automated anyways. Once a site is found it is in the “database” or whatever they use. Bots just signup, some post spam adverts, some don’t for various reasons (bad scripting, default locations not available, permission issues, etc).
