Halloween Fail
Last night marked the 6th year we have been in this house on Halloween. Our grand total of trick treaters stands at 3. It’s very sad.
There is a big haunted house at the fire house, which is just up the street from us. This usually occurs on the Sat before Halloween. We used to think that people just went to that and for some reason didn’t do trick or treating. But last night we went for a brief walk and saw at least 4 groups out in the neighborhood. I guess they just don’t make it down to our street.
My wife loves Halloween, probably her favorite holiday. It’s sad not being able to enjoy giving out candy. So we decided to do something Halloweeny at least and watch, It’s a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Except it wasn’t on. I thought it was always on on Halloween.
To compound the sadness, since we know we won’t get trick or treaters, we couldn’t justify buying several big bags of candy. So no candy induced coma. That’s the saddest part right there.
But in the coming years, we’ll have a kid to dress up and take trick or treating. Probably go to one of our friends neighborhoods. They say they get good turn outs.

We had an even bigger Halloween fail. Had a good sized snow storm on Saturday that knocked down a lot of trees, causing a lot of power outages and the like. Most towns have postponed trick or treats to later this week, though some have had to cancel due to still not having any power.
It does suck to not have a lot of trick or treaters. I live at the end of a dead end street, and even though my neighbors do have kids, I’m sure I don’t get a lot of traffic. I leave a bowl of candy out in my porch for whoever does stop by. I usually end up going to my parents’ house due to the activity they get there.
