Game for the Eons

Kickstarter is bringing about a new age. Before the internet, if you had an idea for something you had to either be rich already, be very persuasive with rich investors or take out a big loan that might ruin you financially. But now, with the power of crowd sourcing, if you have an awesome idea, you can take it to the people of the world. You can make your case, and if its a good idea, your dream can get funded by a wide range of excited and interested people.

One of the success stories from this new age is Gamer Nation studios.  GN is now in the process of funding their second new game on Kickstarter; Eons.  This unique game is something you wouldn’t ever imagine conceiving of as a game but once you hear about it, you can’t help but become excited by the prospect.

Eons is a strategic games are always fun for a group. You need your quick party games, such as GN’s first game Edition Wars, but the core of every game night usually revolves around some hard core game. There’s a reason Settlers of Catan is one of the most popular games out there. And this one sounds like it will be fit in that same role.

In Eons, instead of ruling a small island, you get to create an entire universe. Using the fundamental elements you build heavier elements, stars, planets and form the universe. That’s a pretty lofty prospect and perfect for a group of gamers who are already convinced of their own superiority.

I recommend checking the game out. And because the project has already reached it’s initial goal, you can contribute with full knowledge that you will receive a game. The more people that get on board now, the better the end product ends up being in the form of their stretch goals.

I completely agree! Kickstarter makes it much easier to get investors. It’s crazy the age we live in. Technology is replacing the middleman like retail stores. Amazon and other companies that make it easier for the consumer will be successful. Just look at how Red Box and Netflix destroyed Blockbuster. Eons is also a great and fresh concept for a game.
