Fall = Awesome

Published by Wayne on

Today, for what feels like the first time in forever, I woke up and it was NICE outside. No horrendous humidity that saps you of your strength as soon as you step into it, no 100+ degree temperatures that immediately begin to cook your brain. It was in the low 70’s. Even now, it’s still in the mid 70’s.

I’ve spent 29 out of 30 years of my life in Florida or Texas. Summer temperatures typically lasts from May through September, with a mix of hot days in April and October still. All in all, a good 6 months out of the year. So out of 29 years, 14.5 of them have qualified as summer time. The other half, are a mix of fall, spring and winter. Mostly the first two as winter for me is about a week of freezing temperatures with the rest in the 40’s and 50’s.

So after a 6 month stretch of ugly weather, the pleasant temperatures of fall are beyond wonderful. The first fresh cool fall breeze gives me a giddy feeling for days. While we had that first breeze a few weeks ago, it only lasted about a day. There is a chance this nice weather (high’s only in the 80’s) will last several days. It’s not over yet, but relief is on the way.

😀
