Ding! Level 32!

Another year’s gone by and I’ve gained another level in the Life MMORPG. Like last year, I think I’ll take another level in the Parent class. That will make me Kid 5/Student 17/Husband 4/Teacher 1/Manager 1/Author 2/Parent 2. With all those mix of classes it really makes me wish this game had a respec option.

This latest level was a tough one. As predicted, the “Fussy Baby” boss mob was indeed quite a challenge. His AoE attack means taking cover doesn’t help. But by far his worse ability is his stealth. He’ll pop out of stealth randomly and unload a devastating morale attack and then vanish again.

I’ve moved far enough along in the parenting adventure zone that I’m starting to encounter a new threat, the Terrible Two.  These mobs use an upgraded form of the Fussy AoE, the dreaded “Whine”. Unfortunately,  there’s no real defense.

I did do a little crafting this level as well, earning the “Complete a Trilogy” deed. The auction house is a little fickle though so not everything has sold. I could use a few more levels in Author so that I can craft more books. Unfortunately, there aren’t very many crafting stations in the parenting adventure zone, at least so far, so grinding the necessary xp can be difficult.

One nice thing about the parenting adventure zone is that your companion levels with you here. The “Happy Baby” has advanced to the “Happy Toddler” and has a lot more special abilities. For one, you don’t have to carry him all the time. He also is able to respond to some limited commands now, instead of just providing a passive buff.

The next level should be an interesting one.
