LOTRO Update

Published by Wayne on

Now that I’ve had about a week in Isengard expansion, here are some additional thoughts:

  • I’ve gotten to level 68 with moderate play. I know many people have already hit 75, but I don’t play as much, nor as hardcore as I used too. I have 2months+ until SWTOR, so no reason to rush.
  • I have yet to find any trainers in Dunland. So I’ve gained levels, but not picked up any of my new skills. Not felt like trampsing back to Bree just to train.
  • The story is entertaining. Helping the village of Galtrev free themselves from the White Hand was nice.
  • This is my first experience with the Task feature. It was added after I hit 65 and never really leveled any of my low level characters. It’s a great boon to XP and especially Reputation.
  • Still not liking the limited crafting. I’ve found many crafting scrolls, but only two Tailor. And both were for useless Captain herald items. Neither me or my wife has a Captain and I don’t plan to make and sell stuff. So, I can still only make two pairs of boots.
  • Quests do a pretty good job of sending you out to do several things before returning the the hub. There are still a few cases of “run here, kill X, return. get another quest to go right back where you just were and kill Y”.
  • There is a mix of some non-combat quests.

There is a training hall in one of the buildings in Galtrev. Also you can buy the high quality ingot recipe from the reputation vendor. You only need friend. There are two, one for Rohiirim and one for Dundlings.

There is? I’ll have to look around. I found the auction house and crafting room, guess I just missed the trainers.
I’ve gotten the ingot recipes. I’m glad I’ve got Prospecting and Forestry so that I can make the special ore for my low level metalsmith.
