SWTOR Guild Summit

Published by Wayne on

Bioware held their Guild Summit for SWTOR today. A lot of interesting bits of information filtering out. No one from Republic Sentinels was invited to attend, unfortunately.

There is so much information I can’t really comment on most of it. Darth Hater has a great summary of everything, so check that out. Below are a few things that jumped out for me.

Legacy System

Level 50 with a species and you unlock all variations of that species across both factions.

Example: complete Chapter 3 with Sith Warrior and unlock Force Choke on your other characters

Jetpack unlockable as a short duration sprint for Bounty Hunter, other classes receive rocket boots

Mailboxes and Galactic Trade Network on ships.

Sprint moved to level 1.

new unocked species will only be available to newly created characters.

Multi-spec is coming, not just dual-spec. Not coming in 1.2.

And that’s just what I pulled out that excites me. New species is something I’m looking forward too (Wookiee please!). I haven’t created several classes for this very reason.

Ship upgrades including mailboxes and GTN sounds cool, but not essential. Sprint moving to level 1 is going to be so nice. It’s such a pain waiting until level 14 to move at a reasonable speed across the map. Multi-speccing will be useful. I wish they would make it so you can switch advanced classes, but know that won’t happen.

Guild

There is a team dedicated to expanding guild functionality, including Guild Banks that are coming in 1.2

Most guild features are coming after 1.2, including Guild calendar, using guild emblems on armor, and guild advertising to help recruit/join guilds.

Guild progression in the works, including guild capital ships. No timeline for these features.

Not much here. Guild bank will be nice, but not anything to get excited about. Guild capitalships on the other hand…to bad it’s just mentioned as coming eventually. No timeline means it could be years. I won’t hold my breath on that one.

Economy and Crafting

80% of level 50 players have less than 400,000 credits. Less than 1% have 10 million credits.

Majority of credits spent are on ability training. Container purchases rising. Quest rewards are very lucrative.

Every crew skill will get an endgame benefit. Players will be able to craft Augments through Crew Skills.

Artifice will receive new color crystals previously not available.

Sith Inquisitor is the most played class. Early in beta, Jedi Knight was the most played. Smuggler and Imperial Agent are lowest played classes.

A few nice statistics in there. People spend most of their money on skill training (yeah it’s expensive) and most players aren’t rich. I’m in that 80% category as my characters have less than 300k. I had 600k at one point, but then bought tier 3 speeder. It’s not surprising that Inquisitor is the most player. Who doesn’t want to Force Lightning people to death?

Not a lot of specifics about what will be changing with crafting, other than some things about speeders, new color crystals, and biochem not restricted to the class. It’s nice to hear that all crafting will have a role at endgame, but until we know what that means, it could be relatively useless. I struggle to see what Armstech will be able to provide.

That’s all I have to say at the moment. As more details appear I’m sure we’ll have plenty to discuss.  Can’t wait for patch 1.2!
