STO Update

Season 4 for Star Trek Online came not to long ago. I’ve not been to active so don’t have much to report on it. I played some with the new ground combat but I’m waiting for the Duty Office System to be launched before I really play to much. But they added in Starfleet Academy today so I went down to check it out.

Over all it looks very nice. You can access all of the primary utilities (bank, mail, exchange) and there are also three holodeck rooms that allow you to pick replay mission. Sadly, they don’t function as holodecks so it’s not different than accessing missions from your ready room.

Another recently announcement from STO was the revelation of a fully rendered version of the Enterprise-F.

There was a lot of people who hated the design that won the contest. I wasn’t one of them. It wasn’t my favorite but it seemed interesting. I’m still not completely sold on the design but it shows promise. Though, from this angle, the dual-neck design makes it look fat around the lower hull, especially with the really thin part sticking out the back where the nacelles are attached. We’ll see what it looks like as a full in-game ship model.
