One thing at a time!

There is a lot of interesting tidbits of news and developments in the gaming world. I just spent two days being sick and am trying to catch up on writing but the internet is against me.

X3: Albion Prelude

So, it doesn’t look like X:Rebirth will be coming out this year. But an expansion to X3: Terran Conflict is being released this December that will fill in the story between that game and Rebirth. X3: Albion Prelude has a bunch of new ships, a major war going on a bunch of new missions. This looks cool, but I’ll probably end up skipping it. The X games are fun, but a lot of a time investment. Kind of like Skyrim.

SWTOR Early Game Access

Apparently, Early Game Access to SWTOR will start on Dec 13, not the 15th as previously advertised. This is cool since I should probably be in the first group. I registered my preorder code the morning it was available.  It’s also stated that you will get an email the day you can get into EGA. So much for advance planning. I also need to figure out how to download the game, since I never updated it in the last beta test.

That’s more time to play before the Christmas break starts. But less time to work. Hmmm…maybe I should play SWTOR then and do writing while at my parents.

STO: Dominion Ship

I’ve been playing with the latest update to STO and despite my initial reservations and annoyances with the way Cryptic has handled things, it’s been fun. The new STF’s are fun and much faster (at least in space, the ground ones require far to much coordination for a PUG to handle). But in a new Dev Blog post, they talked about Dominion ships appearing all over space. The post includes stats for the ship like you would see for player ships.

Does this mean the ship will be available for players? If so, how? The post makes it sound like you can just randomly find these ships, but its more likely a part of the next DS9 themed Featured Episode, which won’t occur until at least February (probably March). But if that’s so, why post this now?

Of course, beyond all this, I still want to play Skyrim, bought Portal 2 when it was on sale to play eventually, have a book to finish writing, have another one launching, have to finish Christmas shopping, have baby stuff to get, etc etc. So many things competing for my attention.
