Nose to the Grind Stone
Well, the holidays are over. Time to get back to work. I have a novel to finish writing and then edit into a coherent story. But first I have to remember what the hell I was doing two weeks ago.
I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with the first day back after a long break, to school or to work. There’s nervousness about getting back to work, excitement to catch up with people you haven’t talked to in awhile, anticipation to get busy again, sadness that your lazy carefree days are over, tiredness because you can’t sleep in anymore. Some of those things don’t apply when you work from home. The only people I can catch up with are my characters, who haven’t done anything in the last two weeks. Lazy bastards.
But it will be to nice finally get moving towards the final stage of Book 2. I left off in a bad place, it needs some improvement to not suck, but it’s right before the final ramp up for the book’s climax. Might take me a day or two to figure out what’s going on and to get back in the swing of things, but once I do I expect it will go quickly.
Now, back to work…
