Rogue Review- Dragon Uno

Are you stuck at home? Running out of games to play? Wishing you could play some but need more people? Well you’re in luck. My son (8) is here to teach you the marvels of Dragon Uno.

Dragon Uno is something where you have Dragons combined with Uno.  You deal seven cards to the dragons like they were players at the start. And they get a turn like they were players. On their turn, you get all of their cards that they can play (legally), shuffle them randomly and the one on top is the one they play. Remember, their cards are dealt face up. If they play a wild, the color the color they have the most cards of. If there’s a tie, shuffle them randomly.

Uno works amazingly with stuffed dragons playing with you instead of real people. It’s a simply set of rules to implement since there are not very many choices for players to make. The Dragons aren’t going to be reveling in dropping a Draw Two on someone like a person would, so in a way, its a much friendlier game.

In point of fact, we were both rooting for the dragons to win. We felt bad for Shishu and Big Dragon whenever we skipped them or made them draw cards. They were just so earnest and eager to play. Sadly, after several games, my son had to actively choose to play a card to ensure a dragon victory.

It was a fun experience seeing him develop rules for letting the dragons play.  I wonder what other games can be done effectively and still be fun….
